Cultural Arts

Mission:
To enable the Nashville community to experience God’s blessing of art and beauty through outstanding performances in the Cathedral’s sacred space throughout the year.

Time Commitment:
Varies but typically 1 – 4 hours per event/per month.  We work with the Friends of the Cathedral on mass mailings during the summer months, and host events and receptions throughout the year.

Benefits from volunteering:
Participate in programs that bring hundreds of non-parishioners into the church throughout the year, creating great goodwill and friendship for the Cathedral.  Many of the committee members have formed fast friendships over the years of working together. Receptions typically follow each event and provide an opportunity to meet and thank the artists, and welcome  Nashvillians from all walks of life to the Cathedral.

What is included:
Support for the parish and Friends of the Cathedral mailings during the summer, creation of and printing of the annual brochure.  Several committee meetings where in person or by Zoom we develop programs for the upcoming season, and hosting (welcoming, ushering, setting up receptions, and cleaning up) for each event.

Contact:
Jack Hill or Susan Dupont for more information.  We are actively seeking new members and welcome anyone from the church community and would be glad to discuss further.  There is a place for everyone here. And a job for you!
