Deep Connections
A three-year vision for Christ Church cathedral to grow as a community where people connect deeply and joyfully with God, one another, and our neighbors, as we prepare for our Bicentennial in 2029.
The Plan:
Connect with God
We will connect with God by:
- Reviewing and aligning worship for vitality, approachability, spiritual depth, and purpose
- Reimagining our Children’s, Youth, and Family Ministries
Connect with One Another
We will connect with one another by:
- Offering small groups for adults (such as supper groups, spiritual groups sharing faith stories, and affinity support groups) to create and build connections and care for one another
- Expanding our welcome and integration ministry to provide newcomers and members seeking connection with introductory information, clear direction on how to get involved, multiple touch points, and an emphasis on spiritual growth
Connect with Our Neighbors
We will connect with our neighbors by:
- Outlining and implementing communications and facilities plans to focus on our downtown resident neighbors, inviting them to be part of our worship and community
- Hosting large, intergenerational, drop-in volunteer events at the Cathedral (like Rise Against Hunger) to serve those in need and to invite downtown resident neighbors
- Deepening the Isaac Ministry on Race and Faith with intentional steps such as diversifying our art and imagery, financially supporting Black-owned non-profits, strategizing our marketing, and discerning relational opportunities
- Focusing on vibrant and diverse offerings through Cathedral Arts
