Please join us in celebrating Absalom Jones, the founder of the first Black Episcopal congregation in the United States in 1794. He was the first Black priest to be ordained in the Episcopal Church of the United States and is listed on the Episcopal calendar of saints. The Rev. Ed Smith will be preaching and the choir of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Franklin will provide the music for the service.
