Monthly Mobile Meals Ministry: Saturday, June 6

Developed by our Walking Together partner church St. Anselm’s Episcopal, 4M is a ministry that meets the needs of food-insecure Nashvillians. On the first Saturday morning of every month, we support St. Anselm’s by helping prepare meals and then driving around town to deliver them to people on the street. The next 4M day is Saturday, June 6—contact Shelley Cammack to learn more and sign up!

Church in the Yard is a collaborative ministry held the first Sunday of each month at 1:00 PM in partnership with several other parishes where we provide food and a worship service for Nashville community members experiencing homelessness. Volunteers are needed to shop for and prepare food for attendees before sharing a meal together and celebrating the Holy Eucharist. The next service is Sunday, June 7, and more volunteers are still needed. Click here to see needs and sign up, and email Jackson Hasty with any questions!

Christ Church Cathedral is once again serving as a collection site for the annual Ms. Cheap T-shirt and Coat Drive benefiting Room in the Inn. From June 15 through July 3, we invite you to donate clean T-shirts and coats which will go to individuals served by Room in the Inn. RITI especially welcomes larger sizes, and T-shirts may be plain or with appropriate designs/artwork. Donations can be dropped off in the Baptistry on Sunday mornings or anytime during regular business hours, and will help provide fresh clothing during the summer months and warm outerwear when winter arrives.

The Flower Guild at Christ Church Cathedral is responsible for beautifying our worship spaces every week by designing and arranging flowers for Sunday services and other liturgies—wherever you see beautiful floral arrangements, it’s thanks to the Flower Guild working behind the scenes! The Guild needs new volunteers especially during the summer, and no florist experience is necessary. Please consider this unique way to serve the Cathedral, and reach out to chair Pam Sheridan if you are interested in learning more! The Flower Guild has also started an Instagram account to showcase all of their wonderful work. If you are on Instagram, follow them at @cathedralflowerguild!

Become a Greeter! The Welcome Committee is looking for more greeters to serve before our main Sunday morning services. This is a great way to welcome newcomers to our services, meet other parishioners, and give back to the Cathedral! Greeters serve once a month. Contact Brynn Glaze or Laura Glover for more information.

The Creation Care Committee, headed up by Amanda and Elijah Reynolds, has recently launched church-wide composting services and reusable mugs for coffee hour after the 8:45 AM service. Creation Care is in need of more volunteers so that we can offer composting and other sustainable solutions for more events and services—contact Amanda and Elijah to learn more and get involved in this important ministry!
