Stewardship

Dear Friend of Christ Church Cathedral:

 

You have blessed the Christ Church community with your presence and membership in the past year.  Though you may received "pledge" or "fund-raising" letters from other churches where you have previously been a member, this year's notice from Christ Church is anchored by the appeal for all members, friends, guests, and web-visitors of Christ Church Cathedral to "walk in love as Christ has loved us and gave himself for us."

 

Each fall we hold an "Every Member Canvass" during which time all the friends and members of the Cathedral community are asked to tithe from the first fruits of their household, not because Christians must, or because the budget needs it, or because you can (or can't), but rather out of thanksgiving for all that God in Christ has done for us.  The tithe as recorded in your pledge is in essence the outward and visible sign of your gratitude for the gift of God in Christ.  It’s an adventure and we hope you will embrace this challenge.

 

Please prayerfully consider the pledge of your household to the 2012 General Fund of Christ Church Cathedral.  Your offering of gratitude will be used to sustain the worship, justice, formation, and discipleship ministries of the Cathedral, inclusive of staff support.

Sunday, November 13, has been designated as this year's "Ingathering Sunday". That day at each of the three Liturgies, you and  all friends and members of the Cathedral congregation are asked to bring a card of notice (indicating you have already pledged) or your pledge to place in the alms basins as we together continue to “…walk in love, as Christ loved us.”
