7th to 12th Grade Sunday School Curriculum

YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL CURRICULUM
AT CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL

The Christ Church Cathedral 7th through 10th grade Sunday School curriculum focuses on familiarizing students with the Bible and the application of Christian principles to their lives.  The Sunday School hour is an opportunity of fellowship where youth engage with each other and their Sunday School teachers through discussions and studies about the Old and New Testaments, the Episcopal Church and  their faith.  Ultimately, the goal is for each youth to learn, to question and to grow each year in a safe and open environment and which leads them to applying the teachings to his/her life.

The 11th grade Sunday School curriculum prepares students to be confirmed at the Great Vigil of Easter during their 11th grade year. Using the book My Faith, My Life, the students study and discuss the history and liturgy of the Episcopal Church, various methods of prayer and worship, and Jesus’ call to us today.

The 12th grade Sunday School curriculum and teachers help prepare students to be faithful members of the Church and society after leave high school.  One topic covered this year is "Social Justice" and includes a powerful and educational tour of Riverbend Maximum Security Prison.

7th through 12th grade Sunday School classes meet in the 810 Broadway Building during the Sunday School hour from 9:45am to 10:45am from September to May.
