YOUTH SUMMER MISSIONS 2011

 


             
  

 
 
 
 July 11-15: Urban Mission  (rising grades 8th & 9th).  
Experience Nashville like you've never seen it before.
By day, we work in various service agencies and by night, we 
sleep at St. Augustine's Chapel on the Vanderbilt Campus. Agencies we intract with are: Oasis , Magdalene,
Matthew 25, Preston Taylor, Reconciliation House,  West Nashville  Partnership, Hope Exchange, Second Harvest  
 
July 25-29:  St. Luke's (rising 6th and 7th graders). Beginning our mission experiences for youth is a week with a
longtime friend of the Cathedral, St. Luke's Community House. 
 Cathedral Youth work each day from 9am to 1pm in the the day care, helping to 
 prepare and deliver Mobile Meals, learning valuable skills in the Thrift  Shop, and much more! 
 
June 22-30 EYE: Episcopal Youth Event in Minnesota (all current high school students).
Travel to two very different parts of Minnesota.
Days 1-3: St. Paul/Minneapolis inner city mission work.  We will stay
on campus of Bethel College and work alongside Episcopal youth from all over the US.  
Days 4-7: We head to Northern Minnesota to the Red Lake Reservation with youth from Province IV (southeastern US).
This portion of the mission week is a unique opportunity for cultural immersion and for sharing our faith.
 
June 6-15: Bolivia (current 11th graders. Registration closed)  This annual trip is special to the Cathedral Youth as we
travel to the Amistad orphanage to meet, pray and play with the children of Kantuta House.
