Serving others is a high priority for our youth.  Approximately once a month and in the summer (in conjunction with our mission trips), the entire youth group gathers together to take part in a special outreach project that we call "YOPs."  Our YOPs have provided support for various agencies in Nashville and beyond: Room in the Inn, Matthew 25, Magdalene House, Preston Taylor Ministries, Amistad,  Second Harvest, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, St. Luke's,  Oasis Center, Reconciliation House, etc.
 

2010

October 10: 12th Graders participate in the Oasis Center's "Power of 10" Walk in Centennial Park

 

also October 10:  Matthew 25: Cathedral Youth and Adult Volunteers (27 total!) feed 50 men from the residence hall and listen to a powerful talk by three of the residents about their struggles and joys.

 

October 17: 100 Hands of Mercy at 2nd Harvest Food Bank. Cathedral-wide event to help sort food for those in need in Nashville.

 

November 21: Youth Fundraiser "Cafe Cathedral" at JJ's Market, 6-8pm.  Our fundraiser provides scholarships for Cathedral youth to attend mission trips and also supports our outreach projects.

 

December 4: Ice Skating at Centennial Sportsplex with Preston Taylor Ministries!

 

December 5-12: 11th Grade assists with Alternative Christmas Market.  St. Luke's Adopt-A-Family program in some Sunday school classes.
