EYC events are community and faith building gatherings that meet on certain Sundays each month (see below for our calendar).. EYC brings youth into a welcoming and respectful Christ- centered environment. All youth from grades 6 through 12 are welcome to take part and are always encouraged to invite friends to join us, too. Our home base for EYC is typically in the Youth Room (810 Building) but very often we travel to off-site gatherings in parks, skating rinks, homes, movie theatres or restaurants.
A large part of our EYC time together is in the form of service/outreach projects, which provide meaningful ways for the youth to give of themselves, learn something about the world around them, and to reach out to our neighbors in need. Some of the local service agencies we partner with are: Oasis, Matthew 25, RITI, Preston Taylor Ministries, Magdalene House, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Siloam, West Nashville Partnership, Reconcilation House, and St. Luke's.
All of our EYC dates are publicized in weekly email reminders from the Youth staff (and in the church-wide "Happenings"), on this site (see Calendar link to the left) and in our Cathedral publications (Cornerstone and our weekly service leaflets). Parents of youth participating in church-sponsored EYC events must complete the "Permission Form", which provides important information for the staff. The form is to be downloaded, signed and returned to the Cathedral.
