Regular Worship Services, Summer Schedule
Sunday Worship
Services are held at 7:00am (Rite I), 8:30 and 11:00. The Cathedral Choristers accompany 8:30am service, and the 11:00 service is accompanied by the Cathedral Choir. During the summer, we have two Sunday worship services; one at 8:30am and another at 10:30am. The 8:30am service tends to be shorter and a little less formal with fewer readings and hymns. The 10:30am service is a full Rite II service and is accompanied by the Cathedral Choir. Church school begins at 9:45. Sunday Breakfast Worship would not be complete without Sunday Breakfast! From 7:30am until 8:30am, wonderful southern breakfast items are available in Cheek Hall. Weekday Worship During the week in the chapel we have:
Special Worship Services
First Friday
Grounded in the Book of Common Prayer, each First Friday service is unique and contemporary. Musical leadership is provided by the Gallery Musicians, and many services are enhanced by the Epiphany Dancers. First Friday services take place on the first Friday of each month at 6pm in the Nave. These services are part of the Sacred Space for the City program and more information on this unique service can be found here. Taizé This style of worship is quiet, meditative, and reflective. It uses music with simple chanting and includes periods of silence and brief readings. The experience finds its true meaning in the active participation of all assembled and is meant to focus our attention on the experience and power of prayer. Taizé is a time to worship God and to quiet our souls. There are no greetings or announcements at this service. May we be still and be at peace in the presence of God. Taizé services are generally held on the second Sunday of each month. If you have any questions about our worship services, please contact Amy Greenman, events coordinator, at 615-255-7729.
