"An Angel, a Snake, a Rat and a Whale"
the Old Testament in Wit and Song

Friday, August 6, 6:00 p.m.

Learn how these creatures bear strange witnesses to God’s relationship with the men and women of the Old Testament. A guardian angel is alarmed when she is told to step aside and allow a serpent into Eden. A bawdy rat encounters a moment of theological angst while sailing an endless sea aboard Noah’s ark. A blues singing whale has a word or two for a reluctant prophet trying to escape from God. These are three scenes from a collection of stories and paintings titled Jezebel’s Got the Blues…and other Works of Imagination created by Merrill Farnsworth with music by Phil Madeira, and featuring readings by Chip Arnold, Nan Gurley and Robert Kiefer.
