Alternative Christmas Gift Market – Recapture the joy of giving
“In Honor of Lauren McCathren”

Both adults and children can celebrate the birth of Jesus by honoring His spirit of giving. We honor our families and friends in a truly renewed way by giving to those in need at Christmas.

The Market is held each year in time for Christmas giving. During the market, representatives from a variety of local and global agencies will be present so that you can learn more about the work they do and how your donation will help. A gift card will be provided that you can give to the honoree.

If you have any questions, please contact Holly McCathren, 665-9235 or Libby Patterson, 353-9555. If you would like to volunteer to help at the Market, please contact Susie Ries, 279-0680.

The first Alternative Christmas Gift Market was inspired and organized by Lauren McCathren and her 9th grade Sunday School classmates as a way to honor the birth of Jesus Christ and focus Christmas on giving to others rather than receiving unneeded gifts. After Lauren’s death in 2005, the Market was dedicated to her in recognition of her desire to help those who are marginalized or less fortunate.
