Dear Christ Church Parents,

We will begin our Christian education program for children and youth on Sunday, September 11th. Keeping to the same schedule as last year, Sunday school classes will begin at 9:45 and end at 10:45. The regular Sunday service times of 7:00, 8:30 and 11:00 will resume that same day.

This letter is the formal registration for Sunday school for children age 3 through 6th grade. If there are any corrections, additions, or if your child will not be attending church school, please contact Becky Rochford (age 3 through grade 6) at the Cathedral. You will receive a separate mailing from Chris Klopp for youth (grades 7 – 12).

Classes will meet in the following locations:

3, 4 and Pre-kindergarten 5 Year Olds – Undercroft Hall
Kindergarten – Cathedral Annex
1st - 3rd Grades – Cheek Hall Classrooms
4th - 6th Grades – Cathedral Annex
7th - 12th Grades – 810 Broadway Building

Because of the growth in our parish, we have classes in several different buildings; make sure that your children are well supervised in finding their new classes.

Creating an environment for faith development is a major priority at Christ Church Cathedral.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is the curriculum for 3 year-olds through 6th graders. For families with children in this program we are including two important forms. The first is a Volunteer Form and the second is a Child’s Information Form. Please complete these forms and return them to us as soon as possible. (These forms are also available on line at christcathedral.org/education) All of the information on the Child’s Information Form will be treated confidentially.

The Youth of Christ Church will focus on the following: 7th – 9th graders will follow a curriculum that reiterates and adds to what the youth have learned in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, taking them through the story of the Bible from Creation to New Creation over a three-year period. This year 10th and 11th graders will prepare for Confirmation (more information to be sent out separately). The 12th graders will study the lives of the Saints as they learn to proclaim the Gospel by “word and example” as confirmed Christians. The Youth Pastor will send out a separate mailing with this year’s complete Cathedral Youth information.

Thank you for your support of our Christian Education programming and for sharing your children with us.

Faithfully,

Becky Rochford
Coordinator of Christian Education

Chris Klopp
Youth Pastor
