The Very Rev. Timothy E. Kimbrough

Timothy joined the Christ Church Cathedral staff as Dean and Rector on November 1, 2009, having previously served St. David's Episcopal Church, Laurinburg, and the Church of the Holy Family, Chapel Hill, in the Diocese of North Carolina. He is a graduate of Duke University, B.A. (1979), of the Duke University Divinity School, M. Div. (1983), and of the General Theological Seminary, Anglican Studies (1984).

His interests in liturgy, music, and canon law led him to be a six-time deputy to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church from the Diocese of North Carolina. He has also served the Episcopal Church in other capacities including — member of the General Convention's committees on the Constitution and on Liturgy and Music, member the Joint Committee on the Philippine Covenant (JCPC), and recently as a member of the Executive Council.

His musical settings of hymns, service music, choral anthems, and children's songs have been published by Abingdon, GBGMusik, and Hinshaw Music, Inc. with several of his psalm antiphon settings appearing in the United Methodist Hymnal.

The Dean and his wife, Darlene, are proud parents of four, three grown sons (Joshua, Caleb, and Otis) and a daughter, Hannah, who has moved with them to Nashville.

Anne is Canon Precentor of Christ Church Cathedral, Nashville, Tennessee. She has been at Christ Church since 1989, first as Associate Rector, then Priest-in-Charge. Her primary focus is on liturgy and Christian formation and includes general pastoral and administrative responsibilities. In the diocese and national church, Anne has served as President of Standing Committee, member of Bishop and Council and its Executive committee, chair of Education Committee, Liturgical Officer of the Diocese, Deputy to two General Conventions and member of Ecumenical Relations Committee, speaker and retreat leader.

She was a participant in Clergy Leadership Project. In the community, Anne has served on the boards of the Mental Health Association, Alive Hospice, National Conference for Peace and Justice, Covenant Group (organization of ecumenical religious leaders), Renewal House. She was also a participant in Leadership Nashville. She has taken an active role in the Community of the Cross of Nails (Coventry Cathedral, England) as a Board member of CCN-USA, retreat leader and speaker, chaplain and liturgical leader.

Anne presently serves as President of the Community of the Cross of Nails, North America. Anne is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Agnes Scott College (1961), a Fulbright Scholar, and a graduate in theology of the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.


 
The Rev. Gene B. Manning

Gene B. Manning is the Assistant Rector at Christ Church Cathedral where she coordinates pastoral care, and works with youth ministry, young adults programming and global missions. She also participates in liturgical and other ministries of the Cathedral.

Gene is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, holds a Master of Education degree in human development counseling from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Divinity degree from the School of Theology at the University of the South and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Preaching from Seabury Western Seminary.

Prior to seminary, Gene worked in the counseling field with children and with adolescents in the alcohol and drug field. After ordination she served at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Donelson, and was later Associate Rector at St. George's Episcopal Church, Nashville. Within the Diocese of Tennessee she oversees the Safeguarding God’s Children training, serves on the Commission on Ministry, the Dandridge Trust Board and the Companion Diocese Committee.
