Community of the Cross of Nails

In 2007 Christ Church Cathedral became a Center for Reconciliation of the Community of the Cross of Nails.  The Community of the Cross of Nails recognized Christ Church Cathedral for its work across racial and religious boundaries in Nashville.  To learn more about the Cathedral's work for reconciliation, please visit the Reconciliation Ministries page.

The Community of the Cross of Nails is a world-wide community of individuals and groups that  are committed to reconciliation and Christian life. The organization came from the efforts of the community surrounding Coventry Cathedral in Coventry, England, following the loss of Coventry Cathedral to air attacks in 1940. In recognition of Christ Church Cathedral's becoming a Center for Reconciliation, the Community of the Cross of Nails presented Christ Church Cathedral with a cross of nails from the ruins of Coventry Cathedral.  The cross of nails, pictured here, is located in the Baptistry.
